We are all witnessing new era in Central Asia's history, Kyrgyz Speaker says

Bishkek, Sept 23, 2025. /Kabar/. The 3rd Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian States, "Parliaments of Central Asian Countries: Effective Solutions for the Comprehensive Regional Development," is taking place in Bishkek.
Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu welcomed his colleagues and expressed his pleasure at meeting with the heads of parliaments of neighboring countries in Bishkek.
According to him, in a short period of time, this inter-parliamentary forum has become the main platform for discussing important regional initiatives.
In recent years, political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation has been actively developing between five Central Asian states, including active inter-parliamentary dialogue. The demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border has not only strengthened ties between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan but also elevated relations between the Central Asian countries to a new level. It is necessary to further develop existing ties and collaborate in the areas of climate change management, rational use of water resources, strengthening energy and food security, and expanding transport and trade links. I am confident that we will achieve effective results in these areas only if we combine our efforts, noted the Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh.
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu emphasized that the Kyrgyz side is interested in developing industrial cooperation, creating joint agro-industrial complexes, modernizing border infrastructure, and developing joint tourist routes. This will facilitate the creation of new jobs and open up broad prospects for sustainable economic development, emphasized Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu.
According to him, one of the most important infrastructure projects for the region is the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Kambar-Ata Hydroelectric Power Station-1.
The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway expands the geography of freight transport to Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia. In addition to becoming a true logistics corridor, the railway will facilitate the development of trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. Therefore, through parliamentary diplomacy, we must promote the expansion of ties in these areas, the speaker said.
Furthermore, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu noted that the main goal of the III Inter-Parliamentary Forum in Bishkek is to transform Central Asia into a key hub for political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
Today, we are all witnessing a new era in Central Asia's history. We must all work to ensure that this era becomes a time of great opportunity, sustainable development, and strengthened good-neighborliness, he added.
