Foreign Minister meets Algerian counterpart

New York, Sept. 23 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Ahmed Attaf, Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, on the sideline of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

The two ministers undeerscored the Bahraini-Algerian relations and explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

The two sides also discussed Algeria’s current role on the UN Security Council and the positive outcomes from its experience in addressing international and Arab issues. The meeting further addressed regional developments, including the war in Gaza and its impact on regional security and stability.

Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; attended the meeting.
