Ombudswoman receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Sep. 23 (BNA): Ghada Hameed Habib, the Ombudswoman, received a delegation of staff members from the United States Senate and House of Representatives.
The delegation was given an overview of the office’s mandate and operations, with a focus on its role as an independent body tasked with reviewing complaints and ensuring fair treatment in line with principles of transparency and impartiality.
Officials from the Ombudsman highlighted the procedures followed in handling complaints, from their submission through to the decision-making stage, highlighting its principles of transparency and impartiality.
The delegation praised the work of the Ombudsman, noting its contribution to advancing human rights and safeguarding individual interests, and highlighted the value of such exchanges in promoting cooperation and sharing expertise.
