Minister of Economy and Planning Delivers Kingdom’s Address at First Summit for a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Resilient Global Economy in New York

New York, September 25, 2025, SPA -- On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim delivered the Kingdom’s address at the First Summit for a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Resilient Global Economy, held as part of the High-Level Week of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In his speech, Alibrahim emphasized the importance of an approach built on three main pillars to achieve sustainable development. He said Saudi Arabia believes through Saudi Vision 2030 that effective development is not achieved through rhetoric, but by following a clear approach based on three principles: impact-driven, scalable, and evidence-based.
He also pointed that the Kingdom has built a stable financial system supporting transformation and diversification. The system has active participation from the private sector – as an engine for growth and jobs, while resources are increasingly directed through targeted instruments that maximize social returns.
Alibrahim concluded by saying that we have to aim for joint collaboration and set foundations and standards for credible commitments that are built on a concrete approach, and that we discuss in two years to share the real and impactful results we have achieved. He added that future generations will judge us not by how many plans and initiatives we launch, but by how far we improve people’s lives.
The summit was convened to help unify the efforts of countries and international financial institutions in working toward the Sustainable Development Goals. It brought together heads of state and leaders of international financial institutions, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, to discuss issues related to the SDGs and the latest developments in their global implementation.
