Political Affairs Undersecretary participates in High-Level Meeting of Global South Countries

New York, Sep. 24 (BNA): Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the High-Level Meeting of Like-Minded Global South Countries, organised by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of India to the United Nations in New York. The meeting was attended by Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Ambassador Al Jalahma emphasised that empowering Global South countries is a cornerstone for international development and stability. He highlighted the interlinked global challenges that require increased solidarity and collective cooperation to achieve comprehensive development and maintain international peace and security.

He noted the importance of cooperation between friendly nations to enhance dialogue, exchange expertise, expand partnerships to support efforts addressing economic, humanitarian, and environmental crises, and open avenues for sustainable development.

Ambassador Al Jalahma also underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international initiatives and activating multilateral partnerships, underscoring that solidarity and joint action are essential to achieving shared goals.
