Foreign Minister meets Yemeni Chairman of Presidential Leadership Council

New York, Sep. 24 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Both sides discussed the longstanding relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Yemen, which are developing across various domains. They explored means to enhance bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests and benefit both peoples.

They also discussed recent regional developments, the situation in Yemen, and regional and international efforts to support security and stability in Yemen. They exchanged views on current regional issues and other topics of common interest.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN in New York; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ali Khalid Al Araifi, Chief of Al Madar Centre.
