KSrelief Supervisor-General: Humanitarian Diplomacy is Vital for Addressing Global Crises

New York, September 25, 2025, SPA -- Supervisor-General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah highlighted the unprecedented challenges of conflicts, displacement, and human rights violations, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. He stated that recent conflicts have led to significant displacement of people and loss of life.
Speaking at the session "Humanitarian Diplomacy in Action: Collective Response to the Crises in the Middle East," organized by KSrelief and the European Union during the UN General Assembly in New York, Al Rabeeah stressed that humanitarian diplomacy is essential for achieving peace and stability, and that combining humanitarian efforts with diplomacy fosters productive dialogue, despite the challenges involved.
He cited Saudi Arabia's successful initiatives in Syria as models for peace, and advocated for similar strategies in Sudan, Yemen, and Palestine. He also mentioned the Kingdom's collaboration with France to promote a two-state solution for Gaza, which has received broad international support.
Al Rabeeah concluded by urging a unified response from all humanitarian, political, and development stakeholders, emphasizing the need for decisive action to prevent conflicts and ensure dignified lives for civilians, especially women and children.
