During HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visit to Vatican and Italy, Foreign Minister and Industry Minister meet Italian Deputy Prime Minister

Rome, Sep. 29 (BNA): As part of the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the Vatican and the Italian Republic, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, met Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy.


Deputy Prime Minister Tajani commended the positive outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s official visit to Italy and meeting with Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of Italy.


He highlighted the importance of the visit in enhancing cooperation between the two countries, noting the signing of the Strategic Investments and Collaboration Partnership (SIP), which will boost bilateral relations, expand trade and investment, and create new opportunities in key sectors. He underlined Italy’s commitment to further developing its partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain. 


On his part, Dr. Al Zayani emphasised the importance of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s visit to the Vatican and Italy. He commended the positive results achieved, which would help further the longstanding cooperation between the two countries.


He reiterated Bahrain’s pride in its close relations with Italy, noting that today’s visit to Rome builds on the growing ties between the two sides. He commended the outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s meeting with HE Giorgia Meloni, which would reinforce the partnership and open avenues for further cooperation.


The Foreign Minister confirmed the Kingdom’s interest in advancing bilateral cooperation and working together to advance security, stability, and prosperity in the region, while promoting peace, tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue among religions, cultures and civilisations.


The meeting discussed areas of cooperation, including politics, economy, investment, tourism, culture and science. The two sides emphasised the importance of implementing agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between them, and agreed to continue consultation and coordination in international forums.


They also discussed regional developments and their impact on security and stability. Both sides underlined the importance of peaceful solutions to regional conflicts, including reaching a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, releasing hostages and detainees, delivering humanitarian aid to its people, and supporting efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on the two-state solution.


The meeting was attended by Osama Abdullah Al Absi, Ambassador of Bahrain to Italy; Andrea Catalano, Ambassador of Italy to Bahrain; Saeed Abdul Khaliq, Director of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Talal Al Hamer from Bahrain’s Embassy in Rome.
