Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye discuss opening of Turkish cultural center

Bishkek, Oct 1.2025 /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov met with Elazig Governor Numan Hatipoglu, Türkiye.
Elazig Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları and University Vice-Rector Fırat Mehmed Yılmaz also attended the meeting. The Kyrgyz side was represented by Presidential Advisor Cholponbek Abykeev, Professor Zakir Azizov, and Asanbai Omurzakov, Head of the Kyrgyz El Birimdigi Public Association.
The parties discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation, emphasizing the high level of fraternal and strategic relations between two countries.
Edil Baisalov noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches particular importance to developing a comprehensive partnership with Türkiye. Particular attention was paid to strengthening political dialogue, developing interregional ties, expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and promoting cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Edil Baisalov expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for its support of cultural initiatives, particularly for its participation in projects in the memory of Chingiz Aitmatov in Elazıg Province.
The importance of the opening of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in Kyrgyzstan was also noted, as it will significantly contribute to the development of cultural diplomacy and the strengthening of friendship between peoples.
The prospects for establishing sister-city relations between Elazıg Province and the Issyk-Kul region were also discussed, which would expand direct contacts at the interregional level and add a new dimension to bilateral cooperation.
Edil Baisalov invited the Turkish side to actively participate in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the Cabinet of Ministers' commitment to creating favorable conditions for business, reducing administrative barriers, and improving entrepreneurship legislation.
In turn, Governor Numan Hatipoglu expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, conveyed greetings from the residents of Elazig Province, and noted Kyrgyzstan's rich historical heritage, which became even more famous thanks to the works of Chingiz Aitmatov.
He emphasized the desire to strengthen friendly ties and develop cooperation in education, science, history, and urban development.
At the end of the meeting, Edil Baisalov expressed confidence that the visit of the Elazig Province delegation would give further impetus to the development of Kyrgyz-Turkish relations and wished them success in their future endeavors.
The establishment of sister-city relations between Elazig Province and Issyk-Kul Region and the opening of a Turkish cultural center in the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed at the Presidential Administration.
