Kyrgyzstan, OSCE strengthen disaster risk reduction

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2025. /Kabar/. On September 30, Kyrgyz Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Azhikeev met with Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office.

According to the Ministry, the sides discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in disaster risk reduction.

Boobek Azhikeev expressed gratitude to the OSCE for its continued support and constructive engagement, noting its contribution to emergency prevention and response, as well as its comprehensive assistance in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In turn, Volker Frobarth thanked the Minister for the reception and confirmed the OSCE's readiness to cooperate in enhancing the effectiveness of emergency response and disaster risk management in Kyrgyzstan.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to continue their cooperation and jointly implement the identified initiatives.
