Bishkek hosts conference dedicated to International Year of Peace and Trust

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2025 /Kabar/. On 30 September 2025, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Kazy Dikambaev in Bishkek hosted the International Conference dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust. The event was jointly organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz Republic and the United Nations Resident Coordinator in the country, Antje Grawe.

Heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of state authorities, members of the academic community, political analysts, and media representatives attended the event.

In the course of the presentations, it was highlighted that, during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, put forward a series of initiatives aimed at bolstering international cooperation and fostering mutual trust.

Particular emphasis was placed on the policy of positive neutrality steadfastly pursued by Turkmenistan since the initial years of its independence, which has served as a robust foundation for safeguarding regional and global stability.

The participants underscored that, in the current year, Turkmenistan commemorates the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. This status, grounded in the principles of good-neighborliness, mediation, and peace-loving conduct, has garnered widespread international recognition. A testament to this is the establishment of the International Day of Neutrality, observed annually on 12 December. As a natural extension of the initiative on the International Year of Peace and Trust, a High-Level International Forum is scheduled to take place in December in Ashgabat.

In conclusion, the participants affirmed that the International Year of Peace and Trust paves the way for new avenues in advancing global dialogue and practical cooperation in pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity.

Furthermore, the conference attendees were presented with a video showcasing the accomplishments of Turkmenistan.
