October 2025 Offers Exciting Opportunities for Astronomical Observation, Photography

Jeddah, October 03, 2025, SPA -- October 2025 is a remarkable month for sky enthusiasts, offering a variety of exciting opportunities for astronomical observation and photography.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Jeddah Astronomy Society President Eng. Majed Abu Zahra noted that observers away from city lights can see the Milky Way and the center of the galaxy in Sagittarius. The Pleiades cluster, also known as the "Seven Sisters," is visible to the naked eye or with small telescopes.
This month, Saturn takes center stage, visible on the southeastern horizon after sunset. Telescopes provide a chance to observe its rings and moons, especially Titan. The full moon on October 7 will appear brighter and closer to Earth, with notable alignments near Saturn on October 5 and the Pleiades on October 9.
Comet Halley will contribute to the Orionids meteor shower peaking at dawn on October 21, producing up to 20 meteors per hour in ideal conditions. Additionally, comets C/2025 R2 (SWAN) and C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) present further observation opportunities.
The interstellar comet 3I/Atlas will pass near Venus on October 31.
Throughout the month, Venus and Jupiter will enhance the dawn sky, culminating in a conjunction of the moon and Venus on October 19.
