Iraq, Pakistan Discuss Preparations For the Next Round of Political Consultations Scheduled to be Held in Baghdad

Baghdad /NINA/- The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr Al-Uloom, discussed with the Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammed Zeeshan Ahmed, preparations for the upcoming round of political consultations scheduled to be held in Baghdad.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary stressed the importance of relations between Baghdad and Islamabad and the need to advance them to broader and more effective horizons, which would positively reflect on the ground by activating the memoranda of understanding and agreements signed between the two countries, particularly those of an economic and development nature.

The two sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming round of political consultations scheduled to be held in Baghdad, and the topics of mutual interest that will contribute to advancing bilateral cooperation.

In this context, the Undersecretary called for investing in the national initiative "Study in Iraq" launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation in the scientific and cultural fields and expanding the horizons of knowledge exchange, which would contribute to strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two friendly peoples. /End
