Health Minister participates in GCC Health Ministers’ meetings in Kuwait

Kuwait, Oct. 4 (BNA): Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, participated in the 11th meeting of the Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the 88th (50th session) meeting of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council, held in the State of Kuwait.

The meetings were attended by the Health Ministers of the GCC countries and representatives of the GCC Secretariat General.

The discussions focused on several key topics, including strengthening Gulf health integration, developing joint systems and policies, and supporting initiatives aimed at improving the quality and efficiency of health services in GCC countries, in line with sustainable development goals and efforts to enhance joint Gulf health security.

The meetings also discussed updating the Gulf Public Health Plan 2026–2030, developing the “Wafid” programme related to the health procedures for expatriate workers, and strengthening the unified procurement programme for medicines and medical supplies.

At the conclusion of the meetings, participants emphasised the importance of continuing efforts to implement the adopted decisions and recommendations to enhance the readiness of Gulf health systems and ensure the sustainability of their future programmes.
