A-bomb exhibition to be held in Malaysia+
NAGASAKI, July 15 Kyodo - An atomic-bombing exhibition will be held from Aug. 20 to Oct. 31 at the University of Malaya Museum of Asian Art in Kuala Lumpur, the Nagasaki National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims said Wednesday.
The event will be the first atomic-bombing exhibition in Asia outside Japan in
terms of being hosted by a national facility in Japan, according to museum
officials.
The exhibition will include 38 photos from the August 1945 U.S. atomic bombings
of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as 20 items such as a destroyed clock and a
melted roof tile.
Tsukasa Watanabe, a 77-year-old survivor of the bombing of Nagasaki, will speak
of his experience during the exhibition.
The Nagasaki museum has held overseas exhibitions abroad every year since 2005
in such venues as Spain and Belgium.
