Kyrgyzstan delivers 130 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2025. /Kabar/. By the instruction of President Sadyr Zhaparov, another humanitarian aid was delivered from Kyrgyzstan to the people of Afghanistan affected by natural disasters, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
At the recent 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the need to provide comprehensive assistance to the Afghan people and the importance of not leaving this country in international isolation. Kyrgyzstan has implemented this policy in practice and has been systematically providing humanitarian support since 2022.
On September 25, a humanitarian aid convoy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations set off from the central square of Osh for Afghanistan. Minister of Emergency Situations Boobek Ajikeyev encouraged the rescuers who set off to trust the country and deliver the consignment safely.
The humanitarian cargo sent from Kyrgyzstan included 130 tons of food, warm children's clothing worth 2 million soms, and necessary daily necessities.
After a three-day journey, on September 27, the caravan, accompanied by security services, reached the Hairaton checkpoint in Termez through the territory of Uzbekistan. There, the delegation was met by the representative of Kyrgyzstan in Afghanistan and local security agencies and accompanied to the city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
On September 28, a ceremony for the delivery of humanitarian aid was held in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. Deputy Minister Urmatbek Shamyrkanov noted that this aid was directed on behalf of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the people affected by the earthquake that occurred on August 31 in the Nurgal district of Kunar province, Afghanistan.
The ceremony was attended by the leaders of Balkh province, including Deputy Governor Abu Idris, who expressed their deep gratitude to the Kyrgyz people and President Sadyr Zhaparov.
It was reported that a total of 130 tons of humanitarian cargo will be unloaded into special warehouses and delivered to the disaster area in the coming days.
The Governor of Balkh province, Muhammad Yusuf Wafo, received the delegation from Kyrgyzstan at his residence and expressed his gratitude to the fraternal Kyrgyz people and the head of state. He also noted that in order to strengthen relations between the two countries, Kyrgyzstan is ready to open a consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif and expand cooperation in agriculture and trade.
Kyrgyzstan has provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan on several occasions in previous years, and over the past four years, a total of more than 360 tons of goods have been delivered.
