Iraq and Japan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation and Coordination in International Forums

Baghdad / NINA / – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Akira Endo, on Monday, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Iraq and Japan and to coordinate positions in international forums.
The Ministry said in a statement that the two sides reviewed the history and development of relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation in various fields to serve their mutual interests.
They also stressed the need to continue mutual support in nominations for membership in international organizations and to coordinate diplomatic efforts within international bodies in a way that strengthens both countries’ positions and deepens their partnership.
At the end of the meeting, Undersecretary Shorsh Khalid Saeed expressed Iraq’s appreciation for Japan’s supportive stance and its keenness to continue cooperation in all areas, while Ambassador Akira Endo affirmed his country’s commitment to developing bilateral relations in a manner that serves the interests and aspirations of the two friendly peoples. /End
