Interior Minister receives Bangladeshi official

Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA):  General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Dr. Mohammad Asif Islam, Advisor to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The minister affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting and protecting expatriate workers in line with national laws and regulations.  He highlighted the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to ensure a safe and fair working environment and to safeguard workers’ rights.

General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah noted the Kingdom’s international achievement in maintaining its Tier 1 status for the eighth consecutive year in the U.S. Department of State’s Annual Trafficking in Persons Report, reflecting its ongoing commitment to strengthening human rights protection.

The meeting also reviewed areas of cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and Bangladesh to further support shared goals in sustainable and comprehensive development.
