Al-Sudani And Putin Agree To Postpone The Arab-Russian Summit To A Later Date

Baghdad / NINA /- Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al Sudani and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to postpone the Arab–Russian summit to a later date, in light of ongoing regional and international political developments related to the situation in Gaza.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office said that Al Sudani received a phone call on Thursday from President Putin, during which they discussed bilateral relations and preparations for the first Arab–Russian summit.

According to the statement, both sides agreed to postpone the summit, which was scheduled to be held on October 15, while stressing that Iraq and Russia will officially inform Arab capitals of the decision through diplomatic channels.

During the call, Al Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s support for all efforts aimed at promoting regional stability and enhancing strategic dialogue between Arab states and the Russian Federation. He emphasized the importance of turning the upcoming summit into a platform to strengthen international partnerships, support development in Arab countries, and boost cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, investment, and other vital sectors./ End
