KSrelief Launches Urgent Cholera Response Project in Yemen

Aden, October 10, 2025, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched an urgent response project aimed at combating choler. The project, conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the Ministry of Transportation, and the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, benefits 1,153,000 individuals.
The six-month project targets areas most affected by the epidemic. It aims to reduce infection rates and limit the spread of cholera through preventative measures including establishing specialized medical teams to examine and monitor travelers at air and land entry points in several governorates, including Aden and Hadhramaut.
Ministry of Health Undersecretary of the Population Sector Dr. Salem Al-Shabhi expressed his sincere gratitude to the Kingdom, through KSrelief, for its comprehensive support, particularly for the health sector. He stressed that this aid embodies the deep fraternal ties between the two nations and strengthens the health system's resilience against epidemic crises.   Dr. Al-Shabhi added that the project is a cornerstone in curbing the spread of epidemics, combining preventative measures with community awareness to promote health literacy.
The initiative comes within the framework of the Kingdom's continuous efforts through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to strengthen healthcare measures to confront the cholera epidemic in Yemen.
