Rangers Nab 10 Cambodian Migrants After High-Speed Chase

SA KAEO, Oct 15 (TNA) - Thai border security forces detained 10 undocumented Cambodian migrants and a Thai driver after a high-speed pursuit near the Thai-Cambodian border in Sa Kaeo province.
The Burapha Task Force detected a suspicious pickup truck in the Aranyaprathet district early Wednesday morning. When signaled to stop, the vehicle accelerated, leading to a pursuit that ended when the truck crashed off the road.
All 10 Cambodian migrants—six men, three women, and one minor—fled the vehicle but were quickly captured. The Thai driver was detained at the scene.
The driver confessed to being hired to transport the migrants, who admitted to re-entering Thailand illegally due to unemployment and financial hardship in Cambodia. They had previously worked in Thailand but were forced home by tightened border controls.
All 11 individuals face legal action under immigration and smuggling laws. -819 (TNA)
