Construction work near TSUM to be completed in December, Bishkek mayor says

Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2025. /Kabar/. Construction work near the Central Department Store (TSUM) in Bishkek is scheduled to be completed in December of this year, Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev told at the meeting with journalists. According to the mayor, city authorities are striving to open the area to traffic as soon as possible, while strictly adhering to construction codes and technological processes.

We wish to open the road near TSUM today. But there are standards for how long cement needs to harden, for asphalt, and for other work. If we don't adhere to these deadlines, all our efforts will be pointless because we will lose quality, the mayor noted.

He clarified that, taking into account all technological processes, construction is scheduled to be completed in December. He also added that the bridge on Zhibek-Zholu Street will be commissioned by the end of December. We are reducing all organizational stages and focusing on quality control to ensure the project is completed reliably and on time, Dzhunushaliev emphasized.
