Indonesia eyes economic shift with tech-driven human resources

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is striving to direct national development strategies towards industrial downstreaming, economic digitalization, and the development of the blue and green economies, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony of the Borobudur University, the minister emphasized that for these strategies to deliver optimal results, Indonesia needs to intensify efforts to nurture high-quality human resources capable of mastering and leveraging technology.
As cited in a statement here on Thursday, Hartarto highlighted that effective strategies to produce competitive and adaptive human resources are crucial for Indonesia to sustain and maximize its favorable economic growth rate of above five percent.
The minister noted that this outlook reflects the resilience of Indonesia's economic fundamentals against external pressure.
“Despite this trend, it remains important for Indonesia to overcome challenges ahead by fostering excellent and competitive human resources adaptive to technological progress and the green economy,” he added.
Regarding public contribution, the minister stressed the need for young people, especially university graduates, to understand their strategic role in strengthening Indonesia's competitiveness amid global economic transformation dynamics.
