Air pollution levels exceed safe limits in Bishkek

Bishkek, Oct. 17, 2025 /Kabar/. Air pollution levels in Bishkek have exceeded the norm for the past week, according to Kyrgyzhydromet.

According to the Environmental Pollution Monitoring Department, from October 10 to 16, 2025, the average daily concentration of key pollutants in Bishkek's air exceeded maximum permissible concentrations by up to 2.33 times.

It should be noted that such levels pose a potential threat to public health, especially for children, the elderly, and people with respiratory diseases.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kyrgyz Republic, an extended meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Improving Air Quality was held on October 15. The mayor reported on ongoing greening and environmental improvement efforts in Bishkek.
