Oil Minister receives Saudi Aramco Vice President

Manama, Oct. 20 (BNA): Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received Ghassan Abualfaraj, Vice President and Chief Loss Prevention Engineer at Saudi Aramco, accompanied by several members of the Organising Committee for the first International Chemical Safety Conference & Exhibition, "ChemSafe 25".
This meeting is part of the follow-up on the final preparations for the launch of the conference, which the Kingdom of Bahrain will host from October 27-30, with the participation of an elite group of experts and specialists from around the world.
The minister commended the efforts made in organising this event. He noted that the conference reflects the Kingdom's leadership in chemical safety and industrial process safety, and embodies its commitment to enhancing regional and international cooperation in this vital sector.
He highlighted that hosting the conference represents a strategic step to boost the exchange of expertise and best practices in chemical safety and integrated risk management. He highlighted the importance of cementing a safety culture within organisations and strengthening partnerships between government bodies, the private sector, and international organisations, which contribute to achieving a safe and sustainable working environment.
The committee members reviewed the key preparatory arrangements, including a comprehensive scientific programme with the participation of over 60 international experts representing global organisations and companies, who would discuss various themes. The most prominent of these are: Safety Leadership, Industrial Process Safety, Risk Management, Emergency Response, Human and Behavioural Aspects, Environmental Sustainability, and Security of Laboratories and Critical Facilities, in addition to the Safe Handling of Hazardous Materials.
The conference will also feature an international exhibition with representatives from more than 15 countries showcasing the latest solutions and technologies in chemical and industrial safety.
Abualfaraj affirmed that this support reinforces the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a regional hub in the fields of safety and the chemical industries. He commended the role of the Ministry in supporting specialised events, which contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing frameworks for regional and international cooperation.
