Co-Payment Scheme Kicks Off to Busy Crowds

BANGKOK, Oct 29 (TNA) - Thailand's new "Khon La Khrueng Plus" (Half-Half Plus) economic stimulus program launched with significant activity Wednesday, drawing crowds eager to claim their subsidies. Reporters at markets near the Ministry of Finance observed long queues as people used the government's "Pao Tang" app to complete transactions.
The co-payment scheme offers a subsidy of up to 200 baht per day on individual purchases, for a total daily spending limit of 400 baht, with unused funds rolling over.

Participants widely praised the initiative, saying it provided much-needed relief for daily household costs, and many were willing to endure the wait times.
Some were noted using the subsidy to buy black attire as a sign of respect during the period of mourning for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.

Vendors confirmed a sharp increase in sales compared to the previous day, touting the program as an effective economic boost.
Officials reminded beneficiaries to make their first transaction via the Pao Tang app by November 11, 2025, to avoid forfeiting their rights to the scheme. - 819 (TNA)
