POLICE TO CONTINUE 'WAR' AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKERS

MELAKA (Malaysia), July 16 (Bernama) -- Inspector-General of Police Musa
Hassan said Malaysian police will continue efforts to wipe out drug trafficking
activities in the country through a close working relationship with enforcement
agencies from other countries.

The federal police chief was here in this southern state of Melaka to pay
his last respects at the funeral of Koh Keat Lee, 22, who is the son of Police
Headquarter's Commercial Crimes Department director Koh Hong Sun. Keat Lee
perished in a fire that razed his house at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur on
Tuesday.

Musa said police have beefed up efforts to stop drug trafficking activities
on land, air or sea.

"Police will do everything possible to free the country from the menace of
drugs," said Musa in reference to a number of success by police in crippling the
activities of syndicates involved in drug trafficking.

He also urged the public to cooperate with the police to curb such
activities and help prevent youngsters from indulging in drug related
activities.
