Interior Minister receives UK Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs

Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Priti Patel, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, and the accompanying UK parliamentary delegation, on the sidelines of the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025.

Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah welcomed the delegation’s participation in the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue, attended by representatives of over 60 countries to discuss major foreign policy and security challenges in the Middle East. He underlined the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to international peace and security, in line with the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and emphasised the values of coexistence, tolerance, and openness.

The Interior Minister highlighted the need for international coordination against transnational and organised crime, citing the exchange of expertise and advanced technological cooperation, especially in combating cybercrime. He also commended Bahrain-UK partnership and the shared efforts to enhance cooperation in police work.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK; Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior; Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security; and Major General Mohammed Bin Daina, Director General of Media and Security Culture.
