Foreign Minister meets UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs

Manama, Nov. 1 (BNA): Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, on the occasion of her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025.
The meeting discussed the longstanding and close strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK, and means to develop bilateral cooperation and broaden its scope within the framework of the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA) between Bahrain, the United States, and the UK, in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two countries and their peoples.
Views were also exchanged on current regional and international developments, and efforts to enhance security and stability in the region. Both sides underlined the importance of continued coordination and consultation on regional challenges of mutual concern, and of supporting efforts aimed at ending regional conflicts and establishing just and comprehensive peace in the region.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK; Alastair Long, Ambassador of the UK to Bahrain; Ali Khalid Al Araifi, Head of Al Madar Centre; Shaikha Al Anood bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Acting Head of the European Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the delegation accompanying the Secretary.
