Interior Ministry Spokesperson: Saudi Arabia Employs AI to Serve Pilgrims

Jeddah, November 12, 2025, SPA -- Director General of the General Department of Media and Corporate Communications and Security Spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Talal Al-Shalhoub affirmed that Saudi Arabia has harnessed artificial intelligence technologies to serve pilgrims.
During a panel discussion at the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, he noted that the Ministry of Interior and its security sectors have employed these technologies to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure, with ease and tranquility.
He highlighted the care and attention provided by the Kingdom’s wise leadership to pilgrims through the provision of comprehensive services and facilities to ensure a safe and smooth Hajj journey.
Al-Shalhoub also indicated that, for the seventh consecutive year, the Kingdom, represented by the Ministry of Interior in coordination with other government entities, has implemented the “Makkah Route” initiative, enabling pilgrims to complete their procedures at airports in their home countries and be transported directly to their accommodations in Makkah and Madinah via dedicated halls at 12 airports across eight countries.
