‘Passengers with No Bags’: Smart Travel Experience Draws Attention at Hajj Conference

Jeddah, November 13, 2025, SPA -- At the Hajj Conference and Exhibition 2025, held in Jeddah under the theme “From Makkah to the World,” MATARAT Holding attracted visitors with its showcase of the “Passengers with No Bags” service, a pioneering initiative redefining the travel experience at airports across the Kingdom.
The service was first introduced on a limited basis during the 1444 AH Hajj season at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, enabling more than 680,000 pilgrims to travel without the burden of carrying luggage. Today, it is available to all pilgrims, offering an unprecedented level of comfort that begins at their accommodation and extends to their final destination.
The service, launched by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in cooperation with MATARAT Holding, is based on an integrated logistics system that allows pilgrims to hand over their luggage directly from their accommodation, complete check-in procedures, and receive their boarding passes, while tracking their bags closely until arrival at their destination.
It is implemented in accordance with the Operational Safety Regulation to ensure full compliance with the highest standards of security, safety, and quality.
This innovative experience not only saves time but also helps reduce congestion in departure halls and enhances operational efficiency, making travel smoother and more comfortable. The service benefited over 1 million pilgrims during the 1446H season, with projections to exceed 1.5 million beneficiaries in the coming season.
Offered free of charge, it reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to providing the highest levels of comfort and innovation for pilgrims.
