Measures Taken to Prevent Forest-Fire in Ryanggang Province of DPRK

 Pyongyang, November 23 (KCNA) -- Ryanggang Province in the DPRK is taking measures for preventing forest-fire in a farsighted way.
The province organized forest-fire prevention commanding forces in different regions and units and saw to it that officials conduct political work among the working people and residents to inspire all the people to turn out in the campaign for preventing forest-fire.
After establishing the information service system for monitoring forest-fire, cities and counties in the province have urged the relevant units to intensify real-time monitoring to prevent the forest-fire in advance. They rallied hundreds of fixed and mobile observation posts and have taken measures to intensify concentrated monitoring of forest areas and surrounding mountains of villages.
The forest supervision sector is intensifying the control and education for making the people observe the regulations on forest protection in case of entering mountains.
Samsu County has appointed people with high responsibility as forest-fire watchers to intensify monitoring and is pushing ahead with the work to build obstacles with stones and water-intake places.
Kim Jong Suk County is taking measures to prevent forest-fire while directing efforts to protecting forests around the township.
The electric-power industrial sector, including the provincial power transmission and distribution station, is reducing the risk of forest-fire by lopping the branches of trees around the railway roads and in the area where the power line has passed. -0-
