Malaysia Emerge Overall Champions In 2025 Asian Dodgeball Championships

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), Nov 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian national dodgeball team emerged as the overall champion of the 2025 Asian Dodgeball Championship, after collecting three gold, two silver, and one bronze in the competition held at the Selangor Youth and Sports Complex here.

In the 'foam ball' category, Malaysia secured two gold medals through the women's and mixed teams, respectively, while the men's team had to settle for silver after losing to Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, in the 'fabric ball' category, the national mixed team successfully snatched gold from Japan, with the women's and men's teams securing silver and bronze, respectively.

The championships were participated in by Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Nepal, and India.

Malaysia’s National Dodgeball Head Coach Kent Lau Tuck Keong, when met, described the four-day championships, which began on Nov 20, as satisfactory but remains optimistic that the national team can achieve even better success in the future.

“The next tournament would be the World Dodgeball Championships 2026, which I believe will be held in Saudi Arabia. We will look to try and get the gold there for the six categories contested,” he said.
