Islamic Affairs Ministry Steps Up Pilgrim Awareness with 22 Million Text Messages, 582,000 Calls

Mina, May 27, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visit, continues intensive awareness and guidance programs for pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season.
More than 1,822 preachers implemented dawah and awareness programs in pilgrims' camps, mosques in Makkah, Arafat and Muzdalifah, carrying out more than 120,168 dawah and awareness activities. Electronic screens also broadcast more than 4,360,800 multilingual awareness messages covering Hajj rituals and guidance.
The ministry sent more than 22 million text messages to pilgrims’ phones in the holy sites covering Hajj rulings and instructions, while the unified toll-free hotline received more than 582,108 calls answered by more than 230 preachers and 30 translators in over 14 languages.
The ministry also continues providing visual communication services for religious guidance in more than 40 languages.
The ministry affirmed the continuation of dawah and guidance services in the holy sites until the end of the Hajj season, enabling pilgrims to perform rituals with ease and tranquility.
