Two Holy Mosques Authority Prepares to Receive Pilgrims Departing Early in Madinah Tomorrow

Madinah, May 28, 2026, SPA -- The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque completed preparations to receive pilgrims arriving to visit the Prophet’s Mosque after completing Hajj rituals this year. The preparations coincide with the arrival of the first groups of pilgrims departing early on the evening of Dhu Al-Hijjah 12 via buses and the Haramain High Speed Railway.
The operational plan focused on preparing the Prophet’s Mosque and all facilities to receive visitors and worshippers in a safe and well-equipped environment. Preparations included opening 141 gates in the men’s and women’s sections. Entry movement is also being organized through 100 pathways supervised by specialists in guidance and crowd organization.
The authority stated that preparations included laying more than 25,000 carpets throughout the Prophet’s Mosque and its courtyards. Copies of the Holy Quran and translations of its meanings in several languages were also provided.
The authority enhanced guidance and orientation services and prepared dedicated services for elderly visitors and persons with disabilities through wheelchair and electric-cart distribution points. It also operated 194 escalators and elevators to serve worshippers.
Efforts additionally included intensifying Zamzam water services around the clock through the distribution of more than 10,000 water containers across the Prophet’s Mosque and its courtyards. Drinking stations, shaded areas, and carpeted courtyards were also prepared to accommodate worshippers and visitors during peak times.
The authority further prepared 2,782 restroom facilities in service areas beneath the Prophet’s Mosque and operated 6,060 speakers to broadcast prayers, sermons, and religious lessons as part of programs supervised by the Agency of Religious Affairs at the Prophet’s Mosque.
Organizational services related to visits to Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah also continue through regulating visitor entry according to approved schedules and capacity limits and using digital screens for guidance and awareness. The measures help facilitate visitor movement and enable the largest possible number of pilgrims to pray and convey greetings to Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his two companions.
