Makkah Deputy Governor Reviews Hajj Sanitation, Food Safety Achievements

   Mina, May 29, 2026, SPA -- Makkah Region Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz met with Mayor of Makkah Musaed Al-Dawood in Mina to review municipal services for the 1447 AH Hajj season.
   Officials reported that sanitation teams removed over 250,000 tons of waste across Makkah and the holy sites since Dhu Al-Qadah, using 88,000 cleaning units to ensure a healthy environment.
   On the food safety front, zero cases of food poisoning were recorded among pilgrims, thanks to 29,000 inspection visits to catering facilities, supported by mobile labs and 38 specialized vehicles to safely monitor the distribution of over eight million daily meals.
