Commerce Ministry Secures over 712 Million Food Items for Hajj 1447 AH

Mina, May 29, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Commerce has executed a comprehensive operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, balancing supply stability with strict market compliance across Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites.
Working year-round with major suppliers and logistics networks, the ministry facilitated the seamless delivery of over 712 million food and beverage items, including bottled water, dairy products, juices, bread, and ice, ensuring continuous food service availability through all stages of the pilgrimage.
Simultaneously, field inspectors conducted more than 53,000 regulatory and supply tours across retail markets, commercial establishments, and warehouses in Makkah and Madinah. These intensive operations focused on verifying price displays, auditing the legality of promotional offers, and checking essential goods availability.
Backed by round-the-clock real-time chain tracking in coordination with security and service sectors, the dual-layered strategy effectively protected consumer rights while maintaining an uninterrupted flow of provisions for millions of pilgrims.
