Foreign Minister receives phone call from Philippines counterpart

Manama, Jun. 1 (BNA):  Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a telephone call from Maria Teresa Lázaro, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.

The call discussed the deep-rooted ties and cooperation between the two countries and means to enhance them in various fields to meet the goals and aspirations of both nations.

They also discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation and joint coordination between the GCC and ASEAN during Bahrain’s chairmanship of the GCC and the Philippines chairmanship of ASEAN.  This cooperation aims to serve common interests in areas of mutual concern.

They also exchanged views on enhancing political and diplomatic cooperation and coordination between the two countries in international forums.
