Foreign Minister meets Kyrgyz counterpart

New York, Jun. 1 (BNA):  Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Zheenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, on the sidelines of the UN Security Council meetings.

They discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries and means to further enhance and develop it across various domains for the benefit of both peoples.

They also discussed the latest regional developments, the repercussions of the Iranian aggression against the Kingdom of Bahrain, GCC countries and other states in the region, the consequences of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz on international navigation and the global economy, and the latest developments in the US-Iran negotiations, mediated by Pakistan, aimed at reaching a peaceful settlement to the dispute and ensuring maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

The meeting was attended by Jamal Fares Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and the accompanying delegation.
