GCC journalists visit GCC Secretariat-General pavilion at Bahrain National Museum

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Journalists covering the 46th GCC Summit, hosted by the Kingdom, visited the GCC Secretariat-General pavilion at the Bahrain National Museum to learn about the course of joint Gulf action and the Secretariat-General’s initiatives in enhancing integration among member states, as part of the media centre programme accompanying the summit.
During the tour, journalists explored the pavilion, which showcases the Council’s historical developments, projects, and initiatives implemented over more than four decades, including the Gulf electricity interconnection project, the customs union, and initiatives supporting joint Gulf markets.
Speaking to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Waleed Al Humood, Head of the Secretariat-General pavilion accompanying the summit, said the pavilion provides a comprehensive overview of the Council’s journey and achievements over more than four decades of joint Gulf action, highlighting cooperation across economic, industrial, agricultural, security, and service sectors among member states. He explained that the pavilion includes nine specialised exhibition areas covering more than 40 main topics and 120 sub-topics.
Al Humood added that the displays cover various domains of cooperation and highlight key practical achievements such as the Gulf electricity interconnection project, the customs union, and joint market initiatives, offering visitors a complete and realistic picture of the Council’s history and progress. He noted that the pavilion is open daily from 9 am to 8 pm and will continue to welcome visitors until December 16, coinciding with the Kingdom's National Days celebrations.
Kuwaiti journalist Barakat Al Wuqayan commended the organisation of the visit, noting that it aims to familiarise media representatives with the achievements of the GCC states. He highlighted that the pavilion presented women’s empowerment rates in Gulf society, infrastructure projects such as railways and transport hubs facilitating mobility between member states, and cooperation in health and education, as well as the unified entry visa and commercial licensing systems that allow Gulf citizens to conduct business in any member state, enhancing trade and serving the interests of the GCC states.
Saudi journalist Mohammed Al Shahrani emphasised that the pavilion covers all achievements of the GCC since its establishment, displaying the paths of joint Gulf action in economic, commercial, and industrial fields, as well as agricultural cooperation, food security, electricity interconnection projects, military collaboration, e-government initiatives, and the energy, transport, and communications sectors.
Al Shahrani added that the pavilion is a comprehensive exhibition delivering a purposeful message, aimed at educating students, academics, and raising media awareness of the comprehensive development witnessed across the GCC states.
