Foreign Minister attends Italian Embassy's celebration of Italian Republic's National Day

Manama, June 3 (BNA):  Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of the Italian Republic in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the occasion of the National Day of the Italian Republic.

During the reception, the Minister conveyed the congratulations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the leadership, government, and people of the Italian Republic on this national occasion.

He said, "We gather today to celebrate the values that have shaped Italy’s distinguished history and to commend its outstanding contributions in numerous fields that have helped shape our contemporary world."  He expressed pride in the friendly relations between the two countries, relations based on mutual respect, shared values, and a firm commitment to supporting peace, stability, and international cooperation.

The Minister added that this partnership continues to grow and develop in various fields, reflecting the shared values of our two peoples and providing a solid foundation for further cooperation and coordination in the years to come.

The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its appreciation for Italy’s important role on the international stage and its continued support for efforts to promote international peace and security.  It commended Italy’s solidarity during the recent regional crisis, its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and its clear rejection of attacks that threaten security and stability in the region.

The Foreign Minister said that this principled stance by Italy underscores our shared and unwavering commitment to the principles of international law and peaceful coexistence.  He expressed his hope to continue working alongside Italian friends and partners to build a more secure and prosperous future.
