Youth Minister opens GCC youth forum on career pathways and labour market

Manama, Jun. 6 (BNA): Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, opened the GCC Youth Forum on career pathways and the labour market, organised virtually by the ministry to mark Gulf Youth Day.
The forum brought together Bahraini and Gulf youth, experts, and officials to discuss career development, labour market trends, future skills, and opportunities in the digital economy, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
In her remarks, the minister highlighted the role of youth in development and stressed the importance of keeping pace with technological advances, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation. She also encouraged young people to continue developing their skills and capabilities to enhance their contribution to sustainable development.
Khalid bin Ali bin Salim Al Sunaidi, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), underscored the importance of youth as a driver of development and highlighted ongoing efforts to support programmes and initiatives that promote youth empowerment and participation.
The forum featured panel discussions on career development and the future of the GCC labour market, focusing on leadership, entrepreneurship, future skills, and emerging economic opportunities.
