Jazan Mountains Showcase Their Charm and Breathtaking Beauty on International Mountain Day

Jizan, December 10, 2025, SPA -- Rising between 2,000 and 3,000 meters above sea level, the mountains of Jazan Region stand majestically, often shrouded in clouds. Some are adorned with dense forests that host diverse species of birds and wildlife, alongside populated areas and terraced farms cultivating Saudi coffee and aromatic plants. Others are marked by barren landscapes, sharp peaks, and steep slopes, attracting climbing and adventure enthusiasts, as well as admirers of historical and natural landmarks, ancient archaeological inscriptions dating back thousands of years, and traditional stone villages that preserve a distinctive architectural heritage.
Part of Al-Sarawat mountains range extending across the southwest of the Kingdom, Jazan mountains are renowned for their enchanting natural beauty and temperate climate compared with the region’s plains and coastal areas. On International Mountain Day, observed annually on December 11, the mountains of Jazan boast their striking topography, dramatic rock formations, and environmental diversity.
The region is distinguished by rich vegetation cover, including juniper, acacia, and wild olive trees, as well as numerous rare plant species that contribute to its ecological importance.
