Music Commission Launches Saudi Rhythms Project to Preserve and Globalize Saudi Musical Heritage

Riyadh, December 11, 2025, SPA -- The Music Commission launched the Saudi rhythms project, which aims to develop an electronic music library based on audio recordings from the Saudi Trouq program in Aseer Region, contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Saudi musical and performance heritage both locally and internationally.
This project is part of the commission's efforts to support local musical talent and stimulate innovation by providing artists worldwide the opportunity to draw upon and repurpose Saudi heritage in modern musical works.
The project is built on extensive field documentation from Aseer Region, which included over 50 field visits and 200 hours of documentation, recording of more than 60 musical styles, and production of over 10,000 audio and documentary materials.
The commission will produce various musical packages, including a traditional package (80 styles) and a contemporary package (50 styles), enabling producers and artists to widely use these authentic recordings.
