Interior Minister attends celebration to mark Bahrain Police Day

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA):  General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, attended a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Interior to mark Bahrain Police Day.  The event was attended by Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, senior officials and retired servicemen.

 

On arrival, the Interior Minister was received by Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior, and Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security.

 

The ceremony opened with a formal salute and an inspection of the parade, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran.

 

Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah then delivered a speech in which he extended, on behalf of all Ministry personnel, his congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebration of its National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s accession to the throne and the accompanying national events.  He noted that Bahrain Police Day is an opportunity to honour decades of dedicated service and to reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the nation, upholding its rights, and strengthening the foundations of security and stability.

 

The Interior Minister highlighted the ongoing support and guidance of His Majesty the King, which has strengthened the ministry’s role in promoting security, public confidence, and advanced policing within a modern and integrated system.  He noted that Bahrain Police has developed into a professional organisation capable of responding effectively to challenges while maintaining reliability, firmness where required, and readiness to assist the public.  The Minister emphasised that security remains a key pillar for national development, prosperity, and the protection of the Kingdom’s achievements.

 

He also noted the support provided by the government under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which includes the development of the ministry’s capabilities, implementation of future projects, enhancement of personnel skills, and innovation of rapid-response tools to maintain public order and safety.

 

Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah underlined that the responsibilities of ministry personnel extend beyond professional duties, representing national trust and public service mission that requires integrity, loyalty, and commitment.  He commended personnel for their dedication in all circumstances, day and night, in both peace and crisis, and underlined the importance of preserving the nation’s prosperity through discipline, commitment, and diligence.

 

The Interior Minister addressed the role of technology in modern policing, noting that information technology can present challenges if misused, but also provides significant opportunities when properly managed.  He emphasised the importance of developing personnel expertise in digital and technical security, advancing the ministry’s electronic security presence, and actively addressing misinformation online.  He acknowledged the positive contributions of national partners in supporting cybersecurity, which enhance the Kingdom’s electronic security capabilities.

 

He emphasised that Bahrain Police, with the support of citizens and partners, plays a key role in shaping Bahrain’s future, upholding Bahraini traditions and values, and promoting national identity and civic responsibility.  He paid tribute to fallen servicemen, and expressed gratitude to their families.

 

Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah also highlighted the dedication of all ministry personnel in maintaining national security, describing them as essential to the Kingdom’s stability and development.  He thanked citizens for their cooperation and alertness, recognising them as partners in safeguarding public security.

 

The Interior Minister reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to progress, stability, and security under the leadership of His Majesty the King, noting that the Kingdom continues to advance toward a future defined by justice, human dignity, and sustainable development.  He wished Bahrain continued security and prosperity under His Majesty’s leadership.

 

The units participating in the parade demonstrated practical skills, showing high levels of efficiency and discipline.  The display by the "Silent Unit" was commended for its readiness and precision.

 

On Bahrain Police Day, a national occasion to honour dedication and service, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah presented awards to personnel for their outstanding professional and field achievements, as well as those who had achieved sporting success at local and international levels, wishing them continued success in serving the nation.
