SCO deputy secretary general holds talks with Iranian diplomat in Tehran

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), T.R. Midhun, held talks with the director general for SCO and BRICS Affairs at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Mehrdad Kiaei, in Tehran.
Midhun, who traveled to Iran to participate in the Second Kish International Expo, visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and met with Kiaei on Sunday.
During this meeting, Kiaei emphasized the importance of strengthening the economic activities of the SCO.
He added that the outcomes of the SCO’s economic initiatives should be tangible for its member states, calling on Midhun to implement specific guidelines to further operationalize the economic potential of the SCO.
For his part, Midhun thanked Iran for the invitation to visit the country and expressed gratitude for Iran’s active role in presenting economic initiatives within the organization.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the relations between the SCO and Iran, noting that during his new term, he plans to introduce new mechanisms to make the economic documents of the SCO more operational.
