World Water Council Praises Saudi Arabia's Role in Attracting Water Sector Proposals

Jeddah, July 01, 2026, SPA -- World Water Council President Loïc Fauchon affirmed the council's commitment to ensuring the success of the 11th World Water Forum through international partnerships, sustainable solutions, and innovation. He identified food, health, environment, and renewable energy as priority areas and called for the Kingdom to become the world's water capital.
Speaking at the 2nd Stakeholders’ Consultation Meeting of the 11th World Water Forum, held during the inaugural Saudi Water Week in Jeddah, Fauchon praised the Kingdom's leading role in developing the water sector. He said the event serves as a platform for attracting proposals from water-sector experts and institutions at the local, regional, and international levels.
Fauchon affirmed that the council's ultimate goal is to support the world's poorest regions in gaining access to clean water. He also called for safe drinking water to be placed at the top of international political and development agendas.
