  Malaysian Women's Team Win Duilian Gold At Taolu World Cup

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's wushu team continued their impressive run on the international stage after the national women's team captured the gold medal in the Duilian event at the 4th IWUF Taolu World Cup in Haikou, China.

The National Sports Council (NSC) said in a statement today that the formidable trio of Lee Jia Rong, Pang Pui Yee and Tan Cheong Min delivered a technically superb performance to score 9.660 points and finish atop the podium.

The victory saw the Malaysians edge Italy's Alessia Tartufoli and Jasmine Chu, who had to settle for the silver medal despite posting the same score of 9.660.

The bronze medal went to Hong Kong's Lydia Sham and Yeung Michelle, who scored 9.653 points.
Meanwhile, national wushu star Cheong Min added another medal to her personal tally by claiming bronze in the women's Nandao event after scoring 9.220 points.

The event was won by host athlete Zhang Yaling with 9.783 points, while Macau's Wong Sam In took the silver medal with 9.446 points.

Today's achievements capped another successful outing for the national squad after Cheong Min won gold in the women's Nangun event yesterday, while Pui Yee secured the silver medal in the Qiangshu event.
