Prince Mohammed bin Salman Center Champions Arabic Calligraphy as Living Art and Cultural Heritage

Madinah, July 15, 2026, SPA -- The Prince Mohammed bin Salman Global Center for Arabic Calligraphy is a specialized cultural landmark dedicated to highlighting Arabic calligraphy as a defining component of Islamic civilized identity through education, research, museum exhibitions, and cultural programs.
Spanning more than 5,000 square meters with a built-up area exceeding 9,000 square meters, the center integrates environmental sustainability standards, including solar energy systems, natural lighting, and local building materials such as volcanic basalt stones.
The three-floor building houses a permanent museum, exhibition halls, a library, calligraphy studios, a theater, and training and administrative facilities.
The museum contains over 56 pieces tracing the history of Arabic calligraphy from early Quranic manuscripts and Islamic coins to contemporary artworks, documenting its spread across Islamic civilizations in Africa, China, and India.
