Jo Yong Won, Secretary of C.C., WPK Has Talks with Wang Huning, Chairman of National Committee of CPPCC
Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, had talks with Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on July 15.
Jo Yong Won said that the ever-changing present international political situation has required the two countries to further strengthen the militant unity, support and solidarity and steadily intensify and develop the friendly and cooperative relations for the victorious advance of the common cause of socialism in conformity with the basic spirit of the DPRK-China Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
Noting that the DPRK-China friendly relations have greeted the new period of vitality of their development under the direct concern and wise leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un and Comrade Xi Jinping, he expressed the stand to expand and develop the bilateral relations in a many-sided way while maintaining close strategic communications and tactical cooperation between the two parties and two countries.
Wang Huning said that the conclusion of the treaty between China and the DPRK laid a legal foundation to consolidate the militant friendship formed at the cost of blood, stressing that it is an important common understanding of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries to splendidly mark the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the treaty.
He affirmed the will of the Chinese party and government to regard it as the fundamental principle to implement the important agreement reached in the historic Pyongyang meeting between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, which wrote a beautiful chapter in the history of the traditional China-DPRK friendship and injected the powerful energy into it and promote the China-DPRK relations onto a higher stage.
The talks discussed the issues of promoting the wellbeing of the two countries by strengthening party exchange between the two parties and two countries and deepening cooperation in economy, culture and all other fields.
The talks proceeded in a comradely and friendly atmosphere.
Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Kim Hyong Sik, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Mun Song Hyok, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Kim Myong Su, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, and Kang Chol Ho, vice-minister of the Ministry of Urban Management, and from the Chinese side Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Liu Haixing, head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Qi Yu, secretary of the Party Committee of the Foreign Ministry, Pei Jinjia, minister of Veterans Affairs, and other leading members of the party and government delegation of the PRC and Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wang Yajun.
